Detailed answers to the general questions people ask most often about accounts, pricing, supported file formats, output quality, privacy, licensing and how Vectorisize fits into a creative workflow.

About Vectorisize

What the platform is, who it is for and what it actually does.

What is Vectorisize?

Vectorisize is an AI-powered creative platform that turns photos and text prompts into clean, scalable SVG vector files and prepares supporting raster assets. It bundles image vectorization, prompt-to-SVG generation, background removal, image upscaling, photo colorization and icon pack generation in one workspace.

Who is Vectorisize for?

It is built for designers, indie makers, small businesses, laser engraving and craft shops, marketplace sellers, content creators, marketers and developers who need clean SVG output or production-ready images without spending hours in vector software.

Do I need design experience to use Vectorisize?

No. The interface is built around a simple upload-or-prompt flow. You do not need to know how to draw, trace or manually edit vector nodes. If you can describe what you want or upload a source image, the AI handles the technical work.

Does Vectorisize work in the browser?

Yes. Vectorisize is a web application, so it runs in any modern browser on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPad and Android tablets. There is nothing to install and the dashboard updates automatically.

Does Vectorisize have a mobile app?

There is no native mobile app yet. The web dashboard is responsive and works on phones for basic uploads, downloads and account management, but heavier creative work is more comfortable on a desktop or tablet.

Account and Sign-up

Creating an account, logging in and managing your profile.

Do I need an account to use Vectorisize?

Public marketing pages, the blog, the explore gallery and pricing pages are open without an account. To upload files, generate SVGs or download outputs, you need a free account.

Is the free account really free?

Yes. The free tier includes a monthly allowance for the main tools so you can try every workflow without entering payment details. Paid plans add higher monthly limits, faster processing and additional features.

Can I sign up with Google?

Yes. You can create an account using your Google account or with email and password. Both methods are secure and let you access the same dashboard.

How do I reset my password?

Use the Forgot Password link on the login page, enter your account email and follow the link sent to your inbox. The reset link expires after a short window for security.

Can I change my email address later?

Yes. Email and profile details can be updated from the dashboard settings page. If you signed up with Google, you can also link or unlink your Google account from the same screen.

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion from the dashboard settings or by contacting support. Personal data is removed or anonymised within 30 days, except where retention is required for legal or accounting reasons.

Pricing and Plans

How plans work, what is included and how billing is handled.

How does pricing work?

Vectorisize offers a free tier and paid monthly subscription plans. Each plan includes a monthly quota of conversions and generations across the tools. Higher plans add more capacity, faster processing and access to advanced features.

Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?

Yes. Plans can be changed at any time from the dashboard. Upgrades take effect immediately, while downgrades apply at the start of the next billing cycle so you keep the capacity you have already paid for.

Do unused credits roll over to the next month?

Monthly quotas reset at the start of each billing period and unused capacity does not roll over. This keeps pricing simple and predictable for both casual users and high-volume customers.

Which payment methods are accepted?

Credit and debit cards are supported through our payment processor. Other methods may be available depending on your region — see the pricing page for the most up-to-date list.

Is there a refund policy?

Refund eligibility is described in the Terms of Use. If something goes wrong with a charge or a payment is duplicated, contact support and the team will sort it out promptly.

Do you offer discounts for students, non-profits or annual billing?

Annual billing options and special discounts may be available — check the pricing page or contact support with your use case for current offers.

Files, Formats and Inputs

What you can upload, what comes out and how to prepare your source.

Which file formats can I upload?

The main supported input formats are PNG, JPG, JPEG and WebP. These cover almost every modern raster image source from cameras, phones, screenshots, design tools and the web.

Is there a maximum upload size?

Yes. Each tool enforces a per-file size limit so processing stays fast. If your file is too large, compress or downscale slightly before uploading. Very small files can be improved with the upscaler before further processing.

What output format do I get back?

Vector tools return standards-compliant SVG files. Image preparation tools (background removal, upscaler, colorizer) return processed raster images, typically PNG with transparency where applicable.

Can I convert the SVG to DXF, EPS or PDF?

Yes. The SVG output opens in any modern vector editor and can be re-exported to DXF, EPS or PDF in seconds. Vectorisize focuses on producing clean SVG so downstream conversions stay reliable.

Why does my photo not vectorize cleanly?

Photographs are made of millions of soft pixels rather than crisp shapes, so they vectorize as a stylised interpretation rather than an exact copy. For sharper results, simplify the image first by removing the background, increasing contrast or upscaling a low-resolution source.

Can I upload a screenshot or a logo PNG?

Yes. Logos, screenshots, sketches and icons usually produce excellent SVG output because they have clear edges and limited color palettes. These are some of the most common use cases.

Output Quality and Editing

What to expect from the AI output and how to fine-tune the result.

Are the generated SVG files editable?

Yes. Every SVG returned is real vector markup with editable paths, strokes and fills. You can open it in any vector editor and recolor, resize, split layers or combine it with other artwork.

Can I re-run the same image with different settings?

Yes. You can re-run any input with a different style preset or a refined prompt to explore variations. Each generation is saved in your conversion history so you can compare results.

What if the result is not what I expected?

Try a different style preset, simplify or upscale the source image, or rewrite the prompt with more specific style direction. Most outputs improve significantly with a small change to the input or wording.

Will outputs always look the same on every run?

AI generation involves some natural variation, so two runs of the same prompt or image may produce slightly different results. This is intentional and lets you iterate quickly.

Are the SVGs optimised for the web?

Yes. Output SVGs are sanitised and structured so they load quickly, scale to any size without quality loss and can be embedded directly in HTML, React, Vue and other frameworks.

Privacy, Data and Security

How your uploads and data are handled.

What happens to my uploaded files?

Uploaded files are stored to enable processing, preview and download from your account history. They are not used to train AI models without proper anonymisation. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Are my conversions private?

Yes. Conversion history is private to your account by default. Outputs only become publicly visible if you explicitly choose to share them to the Explore gallery, which you can undo at any time.

Do you train AI models on my uploads?

We may use anonymised and aggregated data from the platform to improve our models. We do not use Your Content for training without proper anonymisation, as described in the Privacy Policy.

Is the connection to Vectorisize encrypted?

Yes. All traffic to and from Vectorisize is served over HTTPS with modern TLS, and uploads are stored on infrastructure that uses industry-standard security practices.

Where is my data stored?

Account data and uploads are stored on cloud infrastructure used to operate the Services. See the Privacy Policy for current information about data location and retention.

Licensing and Usage Rights

What you can and cannot do with generated outputs.

Who owns the SVG files I generate?

Subject to the Terms of Use, you own the outputs generated through the Services from your inputs. Vectorisize keeps rights to operate the platform and use anonymised data for improvement.

Can I use generated outputs commercially?

Vectorisize does not grant or guarantee any specific commercial-use license, royalty-free license or third-party rights clearance for generated outputs. Determining whether an output may be used personally, commercially, resold or distributed — and obtaining any required permissions or licenses — is solely your responsibility.

Can I use Vectorisize to vectorize a third-party logo?

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to upload and reuse any source image, including logos, brand marks and copyrighted artwork. Vectorisize does not grant any rights in third-party content.

Can I publish my creations to the public gallery?

Yes. You can opt into sharing selected outputs to the Explore gallery. Doing so grants other users a license to view and reuse those specific creations. You can remove them from the gallery at any time.

Workflows and Integrations

How Vectorisize fits with the tools and pipelines you already use.

Can I use Vectorisize for laser engraving and cutting?

Yes. The platform produces clean SVG output suited to laser engraving, laser cutting, vinyl cutting and CNC routing. Always verify final material settings such as speed, power and focus inside your laser control software.

Can I use the SVG output in design and prototyping tools?

Yes. Output SVGs are standard files that can be dropped into popular design and prototyping tools, web frameworks, presentation software and slide tools without conversion.

Can I combine multiple Vectorisize tools in one workflow?

Yes. A common pattern is to upscale a small image, remove its background, then convert the cleaned source to SVG. The tools are designed to chain together for production pipelines.

Is there a public API?

There is no public REST API at this time. The /api/* endpoints power the dashboard and are not intended for direct integration.
